Hi, I'm Karina, aka K. M. Langdon. I write stories about the things that strike a chord in me, the kind of human truths that tell us what's underneath — the version of a life, a relationship, a person that's held just below the surface — often with a dog warming my feet.

I hold an MA in Rhetoric and Writing Studies, which sounds like it should make me a very academic, or maybe argumentative, person. (I'll admit, I do enjoy a good argument now and then — especially when it's about something worth advocating for.) Instead, it built on a lifelong fascination with the relationship between one person’s truth and what another person hears or feels. It comes out sideways, often needing excavation. Unsealed is built entirely on that idea — it's a love story told in two people's handwriting, because I don't believe any single version of a story is the whole of it.

Growing up, it was music that inspired me first — the way a song could hold something so raw and so clearly lived. I wanted to write my feelings into a story the way music always had, and I wanted to feel enough — the full range of it — to tell a story worth reading.

I'm still drawn to people who are unmistakably, unapologetically themselves in a world that often rewards sameness — who lean into life's headwinds instead of turning away, who live by their own beat, who let their souls or their stories be seen and keep going anyway.

Off the page, I share my life with my husband, our toddler, and our rescue dog. I try to get outside more than I stay in — there's a kind of clarity and creativity in wild places that wifi and a desk never quite give me. And when I'm not writing my own stories, I help other people find the words for theirs.

It's been nearly a decade since Unsealed left my hands for the broader world, and the core of why I wrote it still rings true: the best stories live in the chasm between what we show and what we carry.
